Gary Murrey, general manager of the Apache Gold Casino and Resort attended the Oracle Business Appreciation Dinner held Monday, Feb. 23, at the Oracle Inn.
At the meeting he gave an update on the Apache Sky Casino that has been planned for the area near Dudleyville off of Highway 77. There has been a delay in construction as a different site has to be selected due to the soil conditions in the area that was previously chosen. The new site is within a quarter of a mile of the original site and ground is scheduled to be broken in the late fall.
Construction of phase one of the new casino is expected to be completed in 2017.
